Our Founder and Training Consultant
Meet Georgina
Georgina, the founder of Heart-based, is a Social Worker and active membr of the Australian Association of Social Workers. She completed a postgraduate Masters in Mental Health Practice and has been practicing in a variety of settings including intergenerational trauma, mental health, child protection, child and family trauma, and domestic violence.
Georgina is an advocate for the vulnerable and at-risk and has seen how systems can help and how they can unintentionally harm. In response to this, and as an agent of change, Georgina has developed a suite of training events to create systems and practice change that is empathic to the work of professionals, as well as inclusive of the exeriences of the clients they work with.
Georgina, a Torres Strait Islander woman, is also a firm believer in the ongoing strength and resilience of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and can tailor Heart-based's Cultural Fitness training for organizations to strategically take meaningful steps and become agents of change.
